Lock your tablet to only show Trillboards — perfect for restaurants, retail stores, waiting rooms, and any public display.
Why enable kiosk mode?
Without kiosk mode
Anyone can press the Home button and exit your app. Customers, kids, or staff could accidentally close Trillboards and leave your screen idle — earning nothing.
With kiosk mode
The tablet is locked to only show Trillboards. No one can exit the app without knowing the PIN. Your screen stays live and earning 24/7.
Setup instructions.
One-time setup, about 5 minutes. Follow each step in order.
Factory Reset Your Tablet
Go to Settings → System → Reset options → Erase all data (factory reset)
This will erase everything on the tablet. Make sure you don't have anything important saved.
When You See "Hi there" — Tap 6 Times
After the reset, your tablet will restart and show "Hi there" or "Welcome".
Tap the screen 6 times quickly anywhere on the screen. This opens a hidden menu for business setup.
If nothing happens, try tapping faster or tap directly on the word "Hi".
Connect to WiFi
The tablet will ask you to connect to WiFi. Select your network and enter the password.
Scan the QR Code
The tablet will show a camera. Point it at the QR code that matches your device:
Choose based on your tablet's Android version. The QR code automatically installs Trillboards and enables kiosk mode.
Standard (Android 8.0+)
Newer tablets with audience sensing
Lite (Android 7.0+)
Older tablets, no audience sensing
Wait for Setup to Complete
The tablet will download and install Trillboards automatically. This takes 2–5 minutes depending on your internet speed. Don't turn off the tablet or disconnect from WiFi during this step.
Enable Kiosk Mode in the App
Once the app opens, press and hold anywhere on the screen for 5 seconds. Enter the PIN when prompted, then tap "Enable Kiosk Mode".
Default PIN: 0000
Change the PIN to something secure from the settings menu!
You're done!
Your tablet is now locked to Trillboards. The Home button won't work, and no one can exit the app without knowing the PIN.
Troubleshooting.
Nothing happens when I tap 6 times
Try tapping faster, or try tapping directly on the word "Hi" specifically.
The QR code won't scan
Make sure there's good lighting and the QR code fills most of the camera view. Try holding the tablet steady about 6 inches away.
I forgot the PIN
You'll need to factory reset the tablet and start over. The default PIN is 0000.
