How the index is built

Facing share: The seconds a passenger's head was turned at least as far as the board's angle, toward its side, over the seconds the board could be read while the head camera ran. Boards 15° or more off the direction of travel, one passenger in view. How a second is judged.
Index: A cell's facing share over the fleet's, times 100. At 150 a cell is faced half again as often as the fleet.
Counts: Passes are every pass of the cell's boards in the window. Boards read are the boards the value rests on. A cell the head camera never read keeps its passes and shows no index.
Interval: 95%, clustered by board, with the fleet held fixed.
Markets: Nielsen DMAs in the United States and provinces in Canada. A US face with no DMA on record is shown under its state.
